Last year Ceará was Brazil's second largest lobster exporter, second only to Pará. This year, in just the first eight months, Ceará increased lobster exports to US$ 47 million, a growth of 199%, compared to the same period last year.
This is a result of the work done by the Lobster Viva Program of the Government of Ceará.
There are currently two bottlenecks in lobster exports: predatory fishing, which needs to be tackled, and logistics need to improve.
